Lavery double earns Berwick win
Darren Lavery bagged a brace as Berwick jumped into fifth place with a gutsy 2-0 win over East Stirling at Ochilview Park. The win was in doubt until the final moments of a hard-fought match, when a fine run and cross from Andrew Russell allowed the striker to net from close range. The game had been even until the 26th minute when Lavery curled a snapshot past a despairing Richard Barnard from outside the box.The home side's hopes of a comeback suffered a setback when Steven Brisbane was sent off for two bookable offences in the space of five minutes, the second for hacking down Lee Currie with 16 minutes to go.The Black and Gold lost their impetus with 10 men, and Lavery pounced in the 88th minute to clinch the victory.
