Gunn fires blank
Craig Gunn missed a first-half penalty as Elgin drew 0-0 at home to Annan in Scottish League Two. Brian Cameron nearly put the home side into the lead inside 15 minutes when he found space inside the box but he failed to finish. City's Jamie Duff pulled an effort wide from the right-hand side of the box shortly before Annan's Peter Watson was penalised for a handball in his own area. Gunn stepped up to take the resulting penalty, which was palmed away by Athletic's Alex Mitchell. Mark Nicolson tested Mitchell again before the break and he struck the bar in the second half with a strike from close range. Martin McNiff had the visitors' final chance when he failed to hit the target five minutes from time and Elgin's Darryl McHardy headed over bar in the final minute to confirm the point for each side.
