ES Setif claim Club World Cup fifth place after penalty win over Sydney
Algerian side ES Setif beat Western Sydney Wanderers 5-4 on penalties to seal fifth place at the Club World Cup in Marrakech.
Romeo Castelen opened the scoring in the fifth minute for the Asian Champions League winners with a fine drive after a pass from Labinot Haliti.
Haliti then headed against the crossbar from a corner and fired over the bar from a Seyi Adeleke cross just before half-time.
Setif, though, came out stronger from the break and Daniel Mullen put through his own net in the 50th minute to give the CAF Champions League winners an equaliser.
The comeback was complete as Abdelmalek Ziaya put the African side ahead seven minutes later, but Vitor Saba's 88th-minute free kick levelled the scores and sent the tie to a shootout.
There Mullen and Ziaya both missed, but Toufik Zerara ensured that Setif were the ones who could celebrate.
