Stags held by minnows
Concord Rangers earned a deserved replay with a 1-1 draw at League Two Mansfield in the Conference South side's first FA Cup first-round tie. They thoroughly enjoyed their big night and never looked outclassed as they battled to the end to heap further misery on a Stags side who have now not won in nine games and were booed from the field,Both goals came in a 45-second spell in the first half with a wonder goal from Jordan Chiedozie quickly wiping out an own goal by team-mate Danny Glozier.Mansfield laboured to make their mark in the first half with Chiedozie volleying wide in the opening minutes.Matt Rhead poked Stags' first chance over the top and Fergus Bell dragged a low shot wide before the game sprang to life with two goals in quick succession.First after 17 minutes Glozier tried to block a Rhead header at goal from a long Liam Marsden throw from the left but only succeeded in heading the ball wide of his keeper and into his own net.Rangers went straight upfield from the kick-off and Chiedozie looked up from almost 30 yards and, out of nowhere, released a rocket of a rising shot that found the top-left corner off the inside of the post.Bell set up two more chances for the home side before the break but Josh Vickers saved from Rakish Bingham on his near post and Adam Murray put a finish wide.Vickers was then down smartly to his right to keep out a decent low Bingham effort after 51 minutes. But Stags keeper Sascha Studer had a better save to make after 64 minutes as he acrobatically tipped Chiedozie's close-range effort onto the roof of the net.The home side almost snatched victory in the last minute but Vickers got down superbly to keep out Chris Clements' free-kick which, had it gone in, would have been a travesty for the gutsy visitors.
