Wonderful Weatherson grabs treble
Veteran striker Peter Weatherson scored a hat-trick as Annan strengthened their play-off chances with a 3-1 win at 10-man East Stirling. The 34-year-old, who went into the contest with 10 goals to his name this season, opened the scoring after eight minutes with a confident finish from Josh Todd's knock-down.David McKenna ensured the sides went into the break level when he found the bottom corner with a right-footed shot from the edge of the box in the 34th minute.East Stirling found themselves down to 10 men early in the second half after David Bates was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Martin McNiff. And that moment proved crucial as Weatherson headed home at the end of a flowing move after 74 minutes to put Annan back in front before making sure of the points with another header a minute from time.
