Queen's Park 2 Berwick 1
Queen's Park stormed back to the top of the League Two table as they took advantage of their nearest challengers' respective slip ups by beating Berwick 2-1 in a tea-time kick-off.Both Arbroath and Albion had lost earlier in the day and a goal from Paul Woods four minutes from time meant the Spiders moved up to pole position. The visitors should have drawn first blood 19 minutes in when Andrew Russell was left all alone but he guided his header wide off the mark from close range. Russell was denied again before the break by a brilliant William Muir save as the teams headed into the second half all square. The home side introduced Ross McPherson off the bench and within eight minutes he had broken the deadlock with a 75th-minute left-footed finish following a corner. However, Berwick hit back instantly through Russell, who chested down a half-cleared effort and slammed home his chance.Yet Queen's Park got the goal they needed to end the day on top of the division as substitute Woods reacted quickest after goalkeeper William Bald had spilled the ball.
