Albion back on track
Albion gave their flagging promotion hopes a boost as they secured their first league win in five matches with a 2-0 success at Berwick. The visitors had lost their four previous league games to fall of the pace at the top, but bounced back with goals in each half from defender Ross Dunlop and striker Mark McGuigan.Dunlop headed home midfielder Alistair Love's cross to give the visitors a 33rd-minute lead, yet the Borderers paid the price for several glaring misses.Berwick midfielder Colin Cameron went close to hauling the home side level when his right-footed shot hit a post and Johnny Fairbairn headed narrowly wide, but Albion doubled their advantage shortly after.Striker McGuigan controlled neatly on the edge of the penalty area and drilled an angled shot into the bottom corner.Berwick substitute Scott Maxwell passed up another gilt-edged chance for his side when he headed off target in the 66th minute and team-mate Ross Gray then fired wide.
