Queen's close gap on Albion
Queen's Park edged closer to leaders Albion with a hard-fought point following their 1-1 draw at Berwick.Albion slipped to a shock 3-0 home defeat to Elgin and second-placed Queen's Park closed the gap to six points after John Carter's opener for the visitors had been cancelled out by Berwick midfielder Paul Willis' first-half penalty.Berwick striker Blair Henderson had the game's first chance when he headed wide in the ninth minute and the visitors took the lead 10 minutes later through forward Carter.Queen's Park midfielder Shaun Rooney made the decisive pass into the penalty area and Carter steered the ball into the bottom corner from six yards.Queen's Park midfielder Sean Burns forced a fine save from Berwick goalkeeper Michael Andrews soon after, but Berwick went in level thanks to Willis' penalty after Burns' foul on Ross Gray.Willis fired just off target late in the second half and Carter was denied by home goalkeeper Michael Andrews' fine save as both sides pressed for the winner.
