Toyosi Olusanya's debut strike sinks Newport

Toyosi Olusanya's debut goal was enough for AFC Wimbledon to take some momentum into their play-off clash with Accrington as they downed Newport 1-0 at Kingsmeadow. The hosts - who had already secured their place in the play-offs - looked dangerous early on as Adebayo Akinfenwa volleyed over before Jake Reeves also struck an effort wide. There was a significant delay in the game as the Dons' Connor Smith was tended to after a clash of heads with Lenell John-Lewis.And after the 23-year-old was stretchered off, Rhys Murphy squandered a golden opportunity before half-time, firing over the crossbar from Akinfenwa's knockdown.John-Lewis saw his drive pushed away well by goalkeeper James Shea, but Wimbledon began to build the pressure as the second half wore on.Just after the hour mark Rhys Taylor tipped Murphy's effort onto the crossbar and Akinfenwa hit the woodwork himself just two minutes later. But the pressure finally told as substitute Olusanya went down under the challenge of Ben Davies and the 18-year-old dusted himself down to convert the penalty into the bottom corner.
