Lyle Taylor bags brace as Dons hit back for point

Lyle Taylor's sensational double clinched a point for AFC Wimbledon in a 2-2 draw at Newport. The Dons have not tasted victory since October 31 but striker Taylor took his tally for the season to eight goals to secure an unlikely point.A long-range effort by Alex Rodman and Paul Robinson's own goal put Newport two goals ahead inside half an hour. But Wimbledon mounted a spirited second-half fightback.Newport began on the front foot and were soon ahead. Rodman thundered a 25-yard strike past Dons goalkeeper James Shea after 14 minutes.Swansea loanee Ollie McBurnie then forged an opening for the second as County went route one.McBurnie chased a long ball downfield and harried AFC Wimbledon centre-back Paul Robinson, who could only poke the ball into his own net.Lenell John-Lewis nearly made it three when he rounded Shea but could not slot home from an acute angle. The Dons then hit back with Taylor bundling home immediately after the restart. And they completed the turnaround in the 79th minute when Taylor sprinted through and stroked the ball past Newport's Joe Day.
