Paul Mullin leaves it late to snatch Morecambe victory

Paul Mullin's last-gasp penalty snatched a dramatic 2-1 win for in-form Morecambe at Newport.Kevin Ellison was brought down in the box by Aaron Hayden in injury time and Mullin held his nerve to convert from the penalty spot.It was another major blow for the Exiles, who remain without a win under new boss Terry Butcher. That was despite Scott Barrow's second-half equaliser after former Newport player Alan Goodall had given Morecambe the lead against the run of play.Newport were left wondering how they trailed 1-0 at half-time having dominated the first 45 minutes. The Shrimps had goalkeeper Barry Roche to thank following a string of fine saves.Aaron Collins, Scott Boden and Lenell John-Lewis were all denied by Roche in the opening 20 minutes. But Morecambe made the hosts pay for failing to take their chances when they scored with their first glimpse of goal, Goodall heading home Jamie Devitt's corner in the 34th minute.Boden, who was also booked, levelled the scores with a stunning 30-yard strike in the 66th minute, only for Morecambe to snatch a late win.
