Carlisle's Derek Asamoah scores twice as Barnet get beaten
Two goals from Derek Asamoah helped Carlisle to their first home league win of the season as they beat Barnet 3-2.Carlisle made a perfect start, scoring inside two minutes, as Danny Grainger's wickedly curling free-kick from the right was met by Lee Miller at the far post and his header squeezed past Jamie Stephens. Carlisle scored a second on the break in the 19th minute, Jabo Ibhere sending Asamoah clear with a ball from inside his own half. Asamaoh took his time before rounding the goalkeeper and blasting his shot into the far corner. The Bees had a string of chances and it was no surprise when Bira Dembele scored with a towering header in the 30th minute from Luke Gambin's corner on the right. And a minute later Michael Gash made it 2-2 with another powerful header. The Bees were made to pay for some profligacy when Asamoah slid home his second in the 64th minute after fine work by Luke Joyce and Alexander McQueen. Dembele, who had thumped one first half header against the bar, was again denied by the woodwork as Barnet fought unavailingly to rescue a draw.
