Sylvan Ebanks-Blake nets decisive goal as Chesterfield sink struggling Fleetwood

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake pounced from barely a yard to bag Chesterfield a 1-0 victory over struggling Fleetwood in Sky Bet League One.The Spireites dominated much of the first half but it took them half an hour to break the deadlock. Sam Herd forged a path down the right and, after his cross was casually headed against his own bar by home defender Dionatan Teixeira, Ebanks-Blake mopped up the rebound from close range. Fleetwood offered very little before the break, Jamie Proctor going closest following in David Ball's shot - spilled by Tommy Lee - but unable to turn the ball over the line. The hosts did turn up the pressure after the interval and had the ball in the net - Proctor flicking in Teixeira's attempted lob - but an offside flag was raised against the striker. With Chesterfield content to sit on their lead, Proctor went close again when Amari'i Bell broke down the left. His driven cross was headed over the bar by Proctor from six yards out. Home substitute Declan McManus also went close, heading over after getting on the end of a delightful curling Nick Haughton cross but unable sneak the ball under the bar. But there was no second-half recovery as Fleetwood slipped back into trouble at the bottom.
