Jim McIntyre expects more from his five-goal Ross County team

Ross County manager Jim McIntyre was delighted with his side's display in the 5-2 win over Dundee at Global Energy - although he feels his side can still do even better.County twice came from behind to take the points with a clinical display of finishing and move four points ahead of the Dark Blues, with Liam Boyce the hat-trick hero for the home side.Michael Gardyne and Jackson Irvine were also on target for County, with Kane Hemmings netting twice for the visitors.McIntyre said: "It was a good afternoon in the end."We started the game really well yet Dundee had managed two shots on goal, had scored with one of them while our goalkeeper had to make a fantastic save with the other."We had created three chances in that time but not worked the goalkeeper with any of them and it was at that point I thought 'how are we 1-0 down here?'"McIntyre was impressed by the way his players responded to the setbacks. He added: "The response the players give us whenever adversity hits us or things don't go our way has been fantastic - and it was again here."To score five goals against a good Dundee side is hugely pleasing and I'm very happy with the result. But we know we have still got to do better."The County boss had a special mention for hat-trick hero Boyce, saying: "Liam's forte is putting the ball in the back of the net."However, McIntyre feels his main forward has still more potential. He added: "We're still working on other aspects of his game such as holding the ball up and releasing it early but he has a natural ability when it comes to finishing and sharpness in the box."I'm absolutely delighted for him as his finishing was superb."Dundee manager Paul Hartley was disappointed with the way his side capitulated in the second half.He said: "We looked a threat when we went forward today but defensively we looked so vulnerable."We were cut open so many times. We just never gave ourselves a chance after the second goal."He added: "From going from a clean sheet last week to this, where we were a good solid unit, it is not acceptable."
