Bayern win at Darmstadt to maintain the momentum at the top

Bayern Munich opened up a three-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga by beating Darmstadt 3-0.Arturo Vidal and Kingsley Coman both scored their first goals in the Bundesliga for Bayern before Sebastian Rode netted against his former club to make it three.Bayern coach Pep Guardiola made numerous changes to his side - but his team were still superior to a Darmstadt side who lost for the first time this season.Coman and Vidal - team-mates at Juventus last season - combined for the first chance of the game, which the Chilean struck wide as he lost his balance.Vidal showed more accuracy in the 20th minute with Douglas Costa adding to his growing collection of assists by teeing up the Chilean, who released an unstoppable shot into the top right-hand corner from 20 yards.Dominik Stroh-Engel tested Manuel Neuer for the first time midway through the first half, earning a corner for his side - but that was almost the only highlight of the game for the home fans.It was otherwise the expected dominant performance from Bayern, who found a way through the Darmstadt defence for the second time after an hour when Rode squared for Coman, who side-footed his shot into the bottom corner from 10 yards.Rode then added the third himself from a Costa pass, tucking in the rebound from a tight angle after his first shot had struck the far post. The success puts the pressure on Borussia Dortmund to respond when they play Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.
