Mexico sent interim manager Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti out on a high after defeating Panama 1-0 at the Estadio Nemesio Diez on Tuesday.

Juan Carlos Osorio will now take over the El Tri coaching duties after Ferretti's undefeated run of four matches in charge, including the all-important CONCACAF Cup title.

Real Sociedad forward Carlos Vela netted the only goal of the game on the stroke of halftime, before going close to doubling the host's lead with a left-footed shot in the 55th minute.

In a patchy match, Mexico keeper Alfredo Talavera pulled off a string of impressive saves to keep Panama scoreless.
