FC Pune City fight back to earn draw at FC Goa

FC Pune City rallied to force a 1-1 draw at FC Goa on Friday to give themselves a little room at the top of the Indian Super League table.

Goa controlled the first half, with Mandar Rao Dessai hitting the bar, but the game was still goalless at the break.

But the home side took the lead immediately in the second half thanks to a Roger Johnson own goal. Jonatan Lucca crossed for Romeo Fernandes to shoot, and the strike deflected off Johnson's leg and in.

Pune City almost equalised two minutes later when Kalu Uche hit the post, and goalkeeper Steve Simonsen kept his side in the game with two inspired saves following corner kicks.

And the visitors soon levelled when Eugeneson Lyngdoh headed home Wesley Verhoek's cross in the 64th minute.

Pune City now top the table by point, while Goa moved up to third.
