Queretaro and Tigres battled to a goalless draw in the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League semifinal match.

The statistics from the story summed up the hectic and hard-to-predict nature of the match. Tigres dominated possession, holding the ball for over 60 percent of the match, but Queretaro had far more -- and better -- chances than the visitors, taking 15 shots, three of which forced saves from Nahuel Guzman.

The physical tone of the match was set early on when Jurgen Damm was fouled hard by the Queretaro defense and was forced to leave the match at the 10-minute mark.

Queretaro held Tigres and prolific scorer Andre-Pierre Gignac in check for the entire night and did well to frustrate the defending 2015 Liga MX Apertura champions throughout the match.

The two teams will meet again on Tuesday, April 5, when Queretaro travel to Monterrey for the second leg.
