Mexico ended an impressive international break with a 1-0 defeat of Poland in Gdansk on Monday.

The win comes three days after Hirving Lozano scored a brace in El Tri's entertaining 3-3 draw against powerful Belgium.

And Juan Carlos Osorio's side were in front after just 13 minutes in Poland.

Javier Aquino and Raul Jimenez replaced Javier Hernandez and Hirving Lozano up front, and it was Jimenez who did the damage before the quarter-hour mark.

Aquino's slaloming run through the top of the box was cut off by a Poland defender, but the Benfica forward pounced on the loose ball and unleashed an unstoppable left-footed shot past goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny from 15 yards.

Mexico made mass changes at half-time, introducing Lozano, Cesar Montes, Nestor Araujo and Oribe Peralta for Carlos Salcedo, Hugo Ayala, Aquino and Jimenez respectively.

While Carlos Vela and Hector Moreno also came on in the second half before the final whistle blew.
