Urawa Red Diamonds claimed fifth place in the Club World Cup playoff on Tuesday, with a 3-2 win over Morocco's Wydad Casablanca. The reigning AFC Champions League winners went ahead through a wonder strike from defender Mauricio, who netted from 40 yards, only for Ismail El Haddad to equalise shortly after from a free kick. Urawa were ahead again by the 26th minute as Yosuke Kashiwagi struck, before Mauricio arrived into the box to find the top corner again for 3-1 on the hour mark. Reda Hajhouj scored a consolation penalty in the final seconds, after a foul was given for pushing at a corner, but it was not enough and Urawa held on for the win.
