FC Dallas bounced from CCL by Tauro FC
Tauro FC lost 3-2 to FC Dallas in the second leg of the teams' round-of-16 CONCACAF Champions League tie, but advanced courtesy of away goals after a 3-3 aggregate finish.
The visiting side held a 1-0 lead from the first leg and added to that advantage just past the quarter-hour mark. A Dallas gaffe left Jesus Gonzalez in behind the defense and he cut the ball back to Edwin Aguilar for a first-time shot to give Tauro a big away goal and a 1-0 lead on the night.
However, Dallas would get back on level footing when Max Urruti was first to a high-looping deflection in front of the Tauro goal and he smashed home a first-time volley to make it 1-1.
But the irrepressible club from Panama struck back to take a 2-1 lead at half-time. Aguilar made a neat turn at midfield and returned the favour to Gonzalez, playing a perfect through ball to his teammate to chip Jesse Gonzalez in the Dallas goal for Tauro's second.
The hosts drew level again early in the second half when Mauro Diaz dispatched a penalty kick after Santiago Mosquera was hauled down in the area with only the goalkeeper to beat.
Torrential rain fell throughout the second half as Dallas chased the goals needed to pull off the comeback, and the first finally came in second-half stoppage time when Cristian Colman headed in a Mosquera cross to give the hosts hope.
However, the winner never came as the MLS side was eliminated from the annual club competition, while Tauro went through.
