Kenya downed 3-2 by Central African Republic

Managerless Kenya were defeated 3-2 by the Central African Republic in an international friendly in Marrakech on Tuesday.

The Fauves of Oubangui were held 1-1 by The Gambia last weekend, but improved against the Harambee Stars, taking the lead in the 12th minute through Foxi Kethevoama for his second of the international break.

Their lead didn't last long, however, as Eric Johanna Omondi responded almost immediately for Kenya as they looked to extend their six-game undefeated streak.

After the break, Raoul Savoy's side sought to take the game to Kenya, whose defensive frailty was exposed in a 2-2 draw with the Comoros last week. They restored their lead when Eudes Dagoulou netted just after the hour mark.

Hilaire Momi added a third from the spot in the 73rd minute, before Kenya were reduced to 10 men after defender Ismail Gonzales was dismissed.

Spain-based forward Michael Olunga pulled one back for the Stars to set up a grandstand finish, but the East Africans weren't able to grab a late equaliser.

It's been a miserable North African tour by Kenya, currently coached by interim boss Stanley Okumbi, who will now look to appoint a permanent successor to Paul Put before the African Cup of Nations resume.
