Is Kansas City's Temwa Chawinga the best signing of the NWSL offseason?

Sebastian Salazar and Ali Krieger discuss how important Temwa Chawinga has been for Kansas City Current.

Vanessa DiBernardo led the charge for Kansas City, scoring the opening goal and providing an assist, as the Current secured a decisive 4-2 victory over Angel City FC on Saturday at CPKC Stadium. The win kept K.C.'s perfect record intact at 3-0-0.

Alexa Spaanstra and Temwa Chawinga each netted a goal, and Bia Zaneratto rounded out the scoring for Kansas City with a stoppage-time strike.

The scoring started with DiBernardo's right-footed shot in the sixth minute assisted by Chawinga following a fast break. Spaanstra doubled the Current's lead just before halftime after VAR confirmed her close-range header.

Angel City's Sydney Leroux narrowed the deficit to 2-1 early in the second half with a header assisted by Claire Emslie on a cross. However, Chawinga quickly responded for Kansas City with a well-executed shot from inside the box.

Madison Curry added another goal for Angel City following a corner kick to make the score 3-2 in the 78th minute, but it wasn't enough to turn things around, as Zaneratto sealed it with her left-footed shot during stoppage time.
