Summer Yates slots in the opening goal for Orlando

Kerry Abello's blocked shot lands at the feet of Summer Yates who puts it in for the Orlando Pride.

The Orlando Pride secured a 1-0 victory over the San Diego Wave FC on Friday at Exploria Stadium. Summer Yates scored the goal in the first half, leading her team to its third win.

Yates' decisive moment came in the 26th minute when she capitalized on a well-timed pass from Marta and slotted a right-footed shot into the center of the goal. This marked Yates' second goal of the season and proved to be enough for Orlando (3-3-0) to claim all three points.

Other notable contributions for Orlando included goalkeeper Anna Moorhouse's solid performance with four saves. Julie Doyle had an assist for one of Yates' shots.

San Diego (1-2-2) struggled offensively despite creating opportunities through Alex Morgan and Sofia Jakobsson. Morgan had a free kick opportunity but was unable to convert it into a scoreline change before leaving injured late in regulation after all substitutions had been exhausted by coach Casey Stoney's side.
