Kansas City Current score 2 goals in first 6 minutes vs. Bay FC

Kansas City's Bia Zaneratto and Bayley Feist score in quick succession to give the Current an early 2-0 lead.

The Kansas City Current secured a decisive 5-2 victory over Bay FC on Saturday at Children's Mercy Park. Leading the charge for Kansas City was forward Bia Zaneratto, who netted two goals in the match, including an early strike in the first half and another late goal to seal the win.

Other notable contributions came from Temwa Chawinga, who also scored twice for Kansas City. Her first goal came early in the second half following a fast break assisted by Vanessa DiBernardo. Chawinga followed it up shortly after with another goal from outside the box, again assisted by DiBernardo. Midfielder Bayley Feist added to Kansas City's tally with a header off an Alexa Spaanstra cross following a corner kick, and Zaneratto added on with her second goal of the night in the 73rd minute to make it 5-1.

Kayla Sharples' header brought Bay FC within one goal late in the first half, making it 2-1 before halftime. However, any momentum gained was short-lived as Chawinga's quick double-strike early in the second half extended Kansas City's lead.

Tess Boade scored late into stoppage time for Bay's second and final goal of the match, assisted by Joelle Anderson.
