Seattle Reign, Kansas City Current battle to scoreless draw

Seattle Reign FC and Kansas City Current played to a 0-0 draw at Lumen Field on Wednesday.

Kansas City's Michelle Cooper was particularly active, registering multiple attempts. Her right-footed shot from outside the box in the first half was saved by Seattle goalkeeper Laurel Ivory. Cooper had another attempt saved in the bottom right corner later in the match.

Kansas City's Vanessa DiBernardo and Claire Lavogez each had attempts blocked or saved by Ivory. Temwa Chawinga missed a header from close range early in the second half.

Kansas City dominated possession for much of the game and created more scoring opportunities than its opponent. However, it was unable to capitalize on its chances due largely to strong defensive work by Seattle's back line led by Lauren Barnes and Shae Holmes.

For Seattle, Ji So-yun had a right-footed shot from outside the box that was saved by goalkeeper Adrianna Franch.
