Savannah DeMelo's late heroics salvage a draw for Racing Louisville FC in the 13th minute of stoppage time vs. the Kansas City Current.


Kansas City Current and Racing Louisville FC played to a 3-3 draw Saturday at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, as Savannah DeMelo's late equalizer secured a point for the visitors.


Michelle Cooper helped lead the way for Kansas City with a goal in the second half, assisted by Debinha.

In addition, Lo'eau LaBonta scored for the Current from the penalty spot in the first half after Kayla Fischer conceded a foul inside the box. 

Emma Sears opened the scoring for Racing Louisville with a stunning long-range effort assisted by Lauren Milliet. The lead was short-lived as LaBonta converted her penalty kick just before halftime to level things.

Early in the second half, Cooper put Kansas City ahead with a well-placed shot from inside the box. However, an own goal by Stine Ballisager brought Racing Louisville back into contention midway through the second period.

Toward the end of regulation, Kansas City's Gabrielle Robinson received a yellow card. Moments later, DeMelo capitalized on defensive lapses by Kansas City and netted the final equalizer for Racing Louisville after being set up by Abby Erceg.
