Barbra Banda makes it 1-0 Orlando

Barbra Banda's nice header gives Orlando Pride a 1-0 lead over Portland Thorns.

Barbra Band scored two goals in the first half to lead the Orlando Pride to a 2-1 victory over the Portland Thorns FC on Friday at Inter&Co Stadium.

Banda scored at the 18th minute mark, heading in from the center of the box following a corner kick. She doubled Orlando's lead just six minutes later with a left-footed shot from close range after another well-executed play inside Portland's penalty area.

Portland attempted to rally back in the second half, making several substitutions including bringing on Izzy D'Aquila who managed to pull one back for the Thorns in the 42nd minute with an assist from Olivia Moultrie.

Despite this effort and additional offensive pushes late into stoppage time -- including Ana Dias hitting the bar -- the Thorns couldn't find an equalizer.
