San Diego Wave FC and Orlando Pride draw 1-1 in hard-fought match

Makenzy Doniak's second-half goal salvaged a point for San Diego Wave FC in a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pride at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego on Friday.

Orlando took the lead in the 36th minute when Julie Doyle finished off a fast break with a right-footed shot into the top left corner, assisted by Barbra Banda. The first half ended with Orlando holding onto its slim advantage despite several attempts from San Diego.

San Diego made tactical changes at halftime, bringing on Makenzy Doniak for Mya Jones and Emily van Egmond for Jaedyn Shaw later in the game. These substitutions paid off, as Doniak found the equalizer in the 62nd minute with a right-footed shot from a difficult angle to beat Anna Moorhouse.
