Houston Dash and San Diego Wave play to scoreless draw

The Houston Dash and San Diego Wave FC played to a 0-0 draw at Shell Energy Stadium in Houston on Friday night. 

The first half saw both sides creating chances, with Kyra Carusa's header for San Diego being saved by Jane Campbell in the second minute. Diana Ordóñez responded for Houston with a right-footed shot from outside the box that was saved by Kailen Sheridan in the 10th minute.

San Diego (3-6-5) continued to press, with Makenzy Doniak missing just wide from outside the box in the fourth minute and Abby Dahlkemper heading narrowly over following a set piece situation two minutes later. They couldn't break through Houston's defense.

Houston (3-5-6) also had its moments, particularly when Paige Nielsen's header went close after Ramona Bachmann's cross in the 34th minute. But they were unable to convert those chances into goals.
