Utah Royals, Portland Thorns battle to scoreless draw
The Utah Royals and Portland Thorns FC played to a 0-0 draw at America First Field on Saturday.
In the first half, Utah's Dana Foederer hit the left post with a right-footed shot from outside the box in the ninth minute. The Royals continued their offensive efforts with Ally Sentnor having multiple shots saved by Portland goalkeeper Shelby Hogan.
Portland had its chances as well, including Becky Sauerbrunn's header that was saved in the center of goal following a corner kick by Sam Coffey. Sophia Smith also missed several opportunities, including one high and wide shot from outside the box.
