Bay FC defeat Portland Thorns 3-1 at Providence Park

Bay FC, buoyed by the efforts of Abby Dahlkemper and Rachel Hill, beat the Portland Thorns 3-1 at Providence Park on Friday. Dahlkemper opened the scoring with a header in the seventh minute, assisted by Dorian Bailey following a corner. Hill doubled Bay's lead in the 18th minute with a right-footed shot from close range, set up by Racheal Kundananji.

Portland (8-3-7) responded in the 32nd minute when Sophia Smith scored from inside the 6-yard box after a fast break. Despite their efforts, they couldn't find an equalizer before halftime.

In the second half, Joelle Anderson sealed Bay's victory with a left-footed strike from outside the box in the 70th minute. 

For Portland, goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold made several saves. 

On Bay's side (7-0-11), Katelyn Rowland stood firm between the posts with multiple saves throughout both halves. The defense led by Emily Menges and Caprice Dydasco effectively neutralized many of Portland's attacking threats.
