San Diego Wave FC defeats Racing Louisville FC 3-1
San Diego Wave FC, led by Jaedyn Shaw and María Sánchez, secured a 3-1 victory over Racing Louisville FC at Lynn Family Stadium on Sunday.
Shaw opened the scoring with a right-footed shot from outside the box in the third minute, assisted by Delphine Cascarino. Sánchez doubled San Diego's lead in the 22nd minute with a stunning free kick.
Racing Louisville (7-7-11) struggled to find a rhythm in the first half but came close when Bethany Balcer hit the bar with a header. But Balcer managed to pull one back for Louisville when she scored in the 68th minute.
However, Savannah McCaskill restored San Diego's two-goal cushion just eight minutes later with a header off another assist from Cascarino.
With the win, San Diego finishes their season at 5-7-13.
