      Relegated MK Dons finish campaign with victory at Shrewsbury

      Relegated MK Dons ended their disappointing season with a 1-0 win at high-flying Shrewsbury.Kieran Agard proved to be the difference after scoring a 63rd-minute penalty for the side which will play League Two football next season.Dons were first to threaten when Callum Brittain's low shot was comfortably stopped by goalkeeper Dean Henderson.Shrewsbury, who will face Charlton in the semi-finals of the play-offs, then went close from two Shaun Whalley corners as James Bolton and then Aristote Nsiala both headed just wide.Abo Eisa was next to go close for the home side when he exchanged passes with Jon Nolan and fired in a shot from 20 yards, but his effort was pushed away by goalkeeper Wieger Sietsma before Brittain then tested Henderson at the other end.Carlton Morris went close to a breakthrough for Shrewsbury at the start of the second half when his header was touched on to the top of the crossbar by Sietsma.However, Agard showed composure to convert his spot kick after he brought down by Nsiala just after the hour-mark.

        MK Dons slip closer to League Two with defeat at Bradford

        Bradford extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 2-0 home win against second bottom MK Dons - a result that pushes the Dons closer to League Two.They are six points adrift safety with only two matches to play and a massively inferior goal difference to their rivals with this their fifth successive defeat.The visitors, who often looked dangerous in attack without being able to add a finishing touch, were first to threaten. Chuks Aneke headed Callum Brittain's corner against the crossbar in the seventh minute, but it was Bradford, who took the lead in the 12th minute following their first meaningful attack.Callum Guy's goalbound shot was deflected for a corner by Elliott Ward and when Tony McMahon swung the ball into the goalmouth Tim Dieng scored with a close range header.Only a fine save from Wieger Sietsma prevented Kai Bruenker from increasing Bradford's lead in the 38th minute and Bruenker wasted a good chance in the 54th minute when he fired over from eight yards.However, the Bantams scored their second goal in the 80th minute after the visitors' defence failed to deal with McMahon's free kick awarded when Marcus Tavernier was booked from bringing down Alex Gilliead.Sietsma punched the ball off the head of Nat Knight-Percival and the Bradford defender retrieved the loose ball before hammering it high into the net and McMahon almost added a third when he fired against the crossbar in the 87th minute.

          Theo Robinson nets treble as Southend maul MK Dons

          Theo Robinson bagged a hat-trick as Southend thumped relegation-threatened MK Dons 4-0 at Roots Hall.The second-from-bottom Dons are now six points from safety with three games to go and never looked like troubling the Shrimpers.Chris Powell's side opened the scoring after 23 minutes when Robinson fired home after Dons goalkeeper Wieger Sietsma had parried a powerful shot from Dru Yearwood.Robinson was celebrating again in the 31st minute when he curled home a delightful effort from the left-hand side of the penalty area.Dons striker Chucks Aneke wasted a fine chance to get his side back in the game when he fired wide of the left post from 12 yards.Southend were able to take full advantage with Stephen McLaughlin heading home a left-wing free-kick from Michael Kightly in the 62nd minute.The hosts then wrapped up the scoring in the 76th minute with Robinson powering home from close range to complete his hat-trick before Shrimpers goalkeeper Mark Oxley superbly denied Aneke and Kieran Agard at the death.

            Marquis at the double for Doncaster as relegation looms for MK Dons

            John Marquis scored twice as Doncaster came from behind to salvage a 2-1 win over MK Dons - who slipped four points adrift of safety.Rovers were a goal behind when Ike Ugbo netted for the Dons early on before Marquis found the net twice in the second-half to complete an impressive turnaround for the visitors, as MK Dons suffered their third straight defeat.MK Dons did take a deserved lead in the 19th minute after George Williams found Chuks Aneke on the edge of the box. He took the ball down and played strike partner Ugbo through on goal before the Chelsea loanee slotted home.But Doncaster found a leveller four minutes into the second half when keeper Wieger Sietsma parried Alex Kiwomya's shot straight into the path of Marquis, who easily tapped home his 13th of the season.The visitors completed the turnaround just after the hour when James Coppinger sailed through the MK midfield unchallenged before finding Tommy Rowe, who crossed to the unmarked Marquis inside the box before he tapped home to officially secure Darren Ferguson's side's League One status next season.

              Will Grigg hat-trick guides Wigan to victory over MK Dons

              Will Grigg fired a brilliant hat-trick to send Wigan Athletic back up to second place in Sky Bet League One after a 5-1 spanking of MK Dons at the DW Stadium.With promotion rivals Shrewsbury in Checkatrade Trophy action this weekend, Wigan took advantage of one of their games in hand to move two points clear of the Shrews, who are now third, with a game still in hand.Grigg opened the scoring on 11 minutes, converting from close range after good work down the left from Michael Jacobs.The Northern Ireland international almost got his toe to the second goal 13 minutes later, although the final touch off Nick Powell's cross was undoubtedly provided by Ethan Ebanks-Landell.The Dons got a foothold in the game when Callum Brittain pulled one back 10 minutes before half-time.But Wigan reasserted their authority in the second period, adding three more goals without reply.Powell - who also hit a post - made it 3-1 with a bullet header from Gavin Massey's right-wing cross, before Grigg made it four on 74 minutes after former Wigan goalkeeper Lee Nicholls had initially tipped his shot on to the bar.With James Vaughan ready to replace him at the next break in play, Grigg completed his hat-trick before the ball went out - making it 23 for the season, with a cool finish from Jacobs' cross.
