Bromley and Barrow both came close in injury time but had to settle for a 0-0 draw in their Vanarama National League clash at Hayes Lane.Victory would have put Bromley into seventh place, and a play-off spot, while Barrow needed more than a point to open up breathing space above the relegation zone.Roger Johnson sent a great chance wide in the closing moments, ending the Ravens' prospects of winning, with Jordan White narrowly failing to latch on to Lewis Walters' cross at the other end moments later.Barrow keeper Steven Arnold played a big part in keeping the game goalless across 90 minutes, with the away side also weathering a penalty appeal in the last five minutes.

Rendell's last-gasp equaliser leaves Barrow sweating on survival

Scott Rendell ensured that Barrow are still sweating on survival after his injury-time equaliser saved promotion-chasing Aldershot in a 1-1 draw at the Recreation Ground.The Cumbrians could even be heading for a last-day nail-biter - but things were looking much brighter when, in the 72nd minute, Shots keeper Lewis Ward punched Dan Jones's free-kick into the path of Luke James to hook in a glorious 25-yard volley.The Shots were disappointing throughout, and despite long spells of possession scarcely tested Steve Arnold.The tide turned for Barrow when substitute Bradley Bauress was given a straight red for a lunge on Will Evans, and the subsequent Aldershot pressure resulted in the dramatic equaliser when Rendell headed in Manny Oyeleke's cross.

Guiseley relegated after defeat to Barrow

Guiseley's relegation from the Vanarama National League was confirmed with a 1-0 home defeat to Barrow.The Lions have won only six league games all season and Asa Hall's second-half goal condemned them to the drop.The away side dominated from the off as Joe Green saved Lewis Walters' effort from the edge of the box.Green then brilliantly tipped Dan Jones' shot around the post before Luke James headed wide from inside the six-yard area.Hall headed in what proved to be the winner six minutes after the break after Green failed to deal with a cross.Hall then cleared Rowan Liburd's shot off the line after visiting keeper Steve Arnold was beaten.Barrow's Donovan Makoma was shown a straight red card three minutes from time.

Dean Rance's first-half goal proved decisive as Ebbsfleet triumphed 1-0 at relegation-threatened Barrow in the National League.Rance lashed home on 32 minutes, following up after Sean Shields had rattled the bar.The visitors hit the post twice but were unable to add any further goals.The struggling hosts found chances hard to come by, even with seven minutes of stoppage time due to an injury to a linesman, and remained deep in trouble in 21st spot.

Barrow hold on for vital victory

Barrow gave themselves renewed hope of beating the drop with a 3-1 win at home to Eastleigh. Ady Pennock's men started with gusto and Asa Hall nodded in a corner from Lewis Walters to put them 1-0 up.In the second half, Chris Zebroski equalised for the visitors when he coolly rounded goalkeeper Steve Arnold, but within seconds Barrow went back in front when Donovan Makoma smashed in past Graham Stack.Walters seemingly secured victory late on, following up on the rebound after Nathan Waterston had hit the post.But substitute Ben Williamson pulled one back for Eastleigh late on, and remarkably the Spitfires were denied by the woodwork three times in a harrowing finish for the hosts.

Sixth-placed Boreham Wood were held to a goalless home draw by National League strugglers Barrow on Good Friday.The first half was an evenly contested affair, with neither team able to stamp their authority on proceedings at Meadow Park.Home goalkeeper Grant Smith tipped Asa Hall's header from Calum MacDonald's fourth-minute free-kick over the bar, with Boreham Wood winger Ricky Shakes lashing a powerful effort inches wide seven minutes later.Boreham Wood moved up a gear after the interval, Kane Smith just unable to reach Morgan Ferrier's left-wing cross and Ferrier then evading his marker before smashing his shot wide, but there was to be no breakthrough.

Stunning Carl Magnay strike earns Hartlepool victory

Hartlepool came out on top in a relegation six-pointer at Barrow as Carl Magnay's stunning strike earned them a 2-1 victory.Pools, who look set to be taken over by Raj Singh this week, moved above their opponents and three points clear of the bottom four with their first away win since October.The visitors dominated the early stages but it was Barrow who took the lead against the run of play in the 18th minute when former Pools striker Luke James was played in by Donovan Makoma and he slotted the ball under goalkeeper Scott Loach.Hartlepool hauled themselves level in first-half stoppage-time when a long ball over the top was flicked on by Jake Cassidy and when Rhys Oates collided with Steve Arnold, the loose ball fell to Conor Newton who scored from a tight angle.The visitors took the lead early in the second half when defender Magnay let fly with an audacious 35-yard effort which sailed into the top corner.Michael Woods brought a good save from Arnold with a low shot and substitute Devante Rodney saw a curling first-time strike clawed away as Hartlepool comfortably held on.
