UNC Greensboro keeps pace with ETSU, beats Western Carolina

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Jordy Kuiper scored 12 points, James Dickey had 11 points and nine rebounds, and UNC Greensboro beat Western Carolina 65-48 on Saturday.

Dickey had nine points and seven boards in the first half as UNCG led 31-26 at the break. WCU was held to 25.9 percent shooting from the field in the second half.

Demetrius Troy and Isaiah Miller each added 10 points for UNCG (19-6, 10-2 Southern). Francis Alonso, the conference's No. 2 scorer at 16.9 points per game, was held to just five points on 2-of-9 shooting.

East Tennessee State (13-0) sits alone atop the conference and Furman (8-5) is third.

Marc Gosselin led Western Carolina (12-14, 7-6) with 15 points and nine rebounds. The Catamounts entered on a three-game winning streak but committed 19 turnovers in the loss, leading to 16 UNCG points.

The Catamounts conclude the regular season with four of their final five games at home.
