Simonds has triple-double, Georgia St. beats Carver 90-50
ATLANTA -- D'Marcus Simonds had a triple-double to lead Georgia State in a 90-50 thumping of Carver Bible College on Friday night.
Simonds was 9 of 13 from the floor for 20 points and had 10 assists and 10 rebounds. Georgia State jumped out to a 42-19 lead at the half and coasted to the win.
Malik Benlevi tossed in 17 points, hitting 6 of 14 from the floor, including 3 of 6 from long distance. He also had seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Jordan Session added 10 points while hauling down nine rebounds.
Georgia State launched 35 from distance, but only hit 10. The Panthers finished 36 of 76 from the floor while limiting the Cougars to 19-of-53 shooting.
Saveyon Edwards had 15 points and four assists to lead Carver Bible College.
