Ugba has 35 points, 11 rebounds in Austin Peay's 87-67 win
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Averyl Ugba scored a season-high 35 points and hot-shooting Austin Peay rolled past Jacksonville State 87-67 on Saturday night.
Ugba, a senior transfer forward from Grambling, made 17 of 21 shots and grabbed 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double with the Governors (10-8, 5-1 Ohio Valley), who came in having lost six straight road games but won at JSU for the first time since 2011.
Zach Glotta hit four 3-pointers and scored 20 points and Terry Taylor added 18 for Austin Peay, which shot 61 percent and made half of their 16 3-point attempts against the conference's best scoring defense.
Malcolm Drumwright made four 3-pointers scored 20 points for the Gamecocks (13-6, 4-2), the defending OVC Tournament champions, with Jason Burnell adding 14 points.
Ugba had 18 points in the first half when Austin Peay took a 48-25 lead.
