San Francisco improves to 6-0, beats Dartmouth 84-65
SAN FRANCISCO -- Frankie Ferrari scored 19 points, Matt McCarthy had 16 points and 10 rebounds and San Francisco remained undefeated with an 84-65 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday.
San Francisco's 6-0 start is the best under coach Kyle Smith. The Dons have played four of their last five games at home, with one on a neutral site in Seaside, Calif. They play outside the state for the first time on Friday when they open the Belfast Classic in Northern Ireland against Stephen F. Austin on Friday.
Ferrari was 8 of 16 from the floor and made three 3-pointers. McCarthy was 7-of-13 shooting and Charles Minlend chipped in with 14 points for the Dons.
Chris Knight scored 15 points and Adrease Jackson had 13 to lead Dartmouth (3-3). Taurus Samuels added 10 points.
San Francisco built a 42-34 halftime advantage. The Big Green opened the second half with 7-2 surge to pull to 44-41. Nate Renfro and Jordan Ratinho answered with consecutive 3-pointers to spark a 19-2 run and Dartmouth didn't get closer.
