Russell leads Rhode Island past St. Joseph's 71-61

PHILADELPHIA -- Fatts Russell scored 23 of his 25 points in the second half, surpassing 1,000 points for his career, and Rhode Island pulled away from Saint Joseph's 71-61 on Wednesday night.

The Hawks led 47-37 with 17 minutes to play but missed their last 16 3-point shots and went 5 of 27 overall with seven turnovers. They even went just 4 of 10 from the foul line.
