McClanahan leads Nicholls past Houston Baptist 93-85

HOUSTON -- Dexter McClanahan scored 20 points as all five starters scored in double figures and Nicholls turned back Houston Baptist 93-85 on Wednesday night.

McClanahan buried 8 of 12 shots from the floor, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range, for the Colonels (19-10, 13-5 Southland Conference). Andre Jones added 17 points, while Warith Alatishe scored 14. Kevin Johnson pitched in with 12 points and six assists. Elvis Harvey Jr. tallied 11 points and 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.

Ian DuBose topped the Huskies (3-23, 3-14) with 19 points and six assists. Jalon Gates sank four 3-pointers and scored 18.

Nicholls shot 58% from the floor, 44% from beyond the arc (8 of 18) but made just 9 of 14 foul shots. Houston Baptist shot 53% overall, made 9 of 18 from distance and 10 of 12 at the foul line.
