BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- De'Monte Buckingham had a season-high 25 points as Cal State Bakersfield defeated Grand Canyon 69-62 on Saturday night.

Both teams were playing their first Western Athletic Conference game of the season.

Taze Moore had 15 points and three blocks for Cal State Bakersfield (7-9). Czar Perry added six assists. Greg Lee had 13 rebounds for the home team.

Carlos Johnson had 17 points and six rebounds for the Antelopes (5-10). Jovan Blacksher Jr. added 14 points. Isiah Brown had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Both teams take on California Baptist in their next game. Cal State Bakersfield remains home for its matchup against the Lancers on Wednesday, while Grand Canyon heads home to host California Baptist on Saturday.
