Unbeaten Bradley defeats UTEP 63-59 to win SoCal Challenge Surf Division

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. -- — Connor Hickman scored 16 points as unbeaten Bradley beat UTEP 63-59 on Wednesday to claim the SoCal Challenge Surf Division championship.

Hickman shot 5 for 12 (2 for 6 from 3-point range) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line for the Braves (5-0). Malevy Leons added 13 points while going 6 of 11 from the field, and they also had six rebounds. Christian Davis had nine points and shot 2 of 5 from the field and 5 for 6 from the line.

The Miners (5-1) were led by Tae Hardy, who posted 15 points and three steals. Otis Frazier III added 11 points for UTEP. In addition, Zid Powell finished with eight points. The Miners ended a five-game winning streak with the loss.

NEXT UP

Both teams next play Saturday. Bradley hosts Vermont and UTEPsquares off against Loyola Marymount on the road.
