DALLAS (Ticker) -- Owners of the worst record in the NBA, the Golden State Warriors try to rid themselves of that label tonight when they face the Dallas Mavericks.
Golden State failed in a bid for its second three-game winning streak of the season on Sunday, suffering a 99-81 loss to Minnesota. Antawn Jamison, who scored 69 points in his two previous games, including a career-best 37 against Cleveland on Friday, had just seven on 3-of-15 shooting in the loss against the Timberwolves. Dallas has been playing better of late, winning four of its last six games. Cedric Ceballos scored 22 points on Sunday as the Mavericks completed a 2-1 road trip with a 99-91 victory over Detroit. Ceballos has led the Mavs in scoring in three of their last four games, averaging 28.5 points. He scores 18.3 points per game for the season, second to Michael Finley (22.3 ppg). The Mavericks, who are beginning a five-game homestand tonight, are 7-10 at Reunion Arena this season. Dallas has won all three meetings from the Warriors this campaign, including a season-opening 108-96 victory here, and four in a row overall.
