SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The lowly Los Angeles Clippers may have a tough time trying to snap an eight-game losing streak tonight when they battle the San Antonio Spurs.
Maurice Taylor is averaging 17.7 for the Clippers, who have averaged just 88.8 points per contest in their last five games and are 27th in the NBA at 92.5. Tim Duncan collected 33 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks as San Antonio appeared rejuvenated in a 96-83 victory over New York on Saturday. Terry Porter added 18 points and 11 rebounds in his first start of the season. Following a 14-3 start, the Spurs are just 12-12 after losing only 13 games last season and are two games behind Utah for first place in the Midwest Division. San Antonio defeated the Clippers twice this season in Los Angeles, posting a 99-94 victory on November 10 before a 99-93 triumph on January 17.
