Clippers fined $50K for Rivers' Kawhi comments

The league didn't specify which comments violated the anti-tampering rule. Clippers coach Doc Rivers compared Raptors star Kawhi Leonard to Michael Jordan on ESPN's NBA Finals preview show earlier this week.

The NBA announced today that it has fined the LA Clippers $50,000 for violating the league's anti-tampering rule. The fine is in response to comments regarding the Toronto Raptors' Kawhi Leonard made by head coach Doc Rivers in a recent television appearance on ESPN's NBA Finals preview show. Warriors limp into second round with little time to recover

Postseason hopes can be fragile. Golden State closed out the Clippers, but the Warriors showed just how important it is to finish teams quickly -- and the consequences of when that does not happen.

Doc: 'Never been more proud of a group of guys'

After a surprising season in which the Clippers exceeded expectations, coach Doc Rivers could only marvel at the heart his team displayed, despite their campaign coming to an end Friday night.

Williams, Beverley on stopping Kevin Durant: 'We tried' (1:45)

Durant has 50, Warriors beat Clippers 129-110; Rockets next

Kevin Durant scored 38 of his playoff career-high 50 points in the first half, Draymond Green had a triple-double, and the Golden State Warriors dominated in closing out the Los Angeles Clippers 129-110 Friday night to win their first-round series 4-2.

Kevin Durant just delivered one of the greatest scoring halves by any player in playoff history. He tallied 38 first-half points, the most points that he's scored in any half in his career in either the regular season or postseason. He also tied Charles Barkley for the second-highest scoring half for any player in a postseason game. The record for most points in a half for a playoff game, by the way, is 39 by Sleepy Floyd on May 10, 1987. Durant is shooting 12 of 17 from the floor, 4 of 8 from the 3-point line and 10-of-10 from the free-throw line.

Kevin Durant's first-half playoff career high is 27 points, which he achieved in Game 3 of this first-round series against the Clippers. But Durant surpassed that mark with 7:41 in the second quarter, when he drilled a 3-pointer to give him 28 points. He looks very determined to close out the Clippers tonight.

Kevin Durant is on fire early on and, so far, the Clippers have no answer. In his first 12 minutes of action, Durant has tallied 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor. And Durant scored or assisted on 20 of the Warriors' 35 first-quarter points, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Durant's 15 first-quarter points were also the most that he's scored in a first quarter in the playoffs since joining the Warriors.

Warriors star guard Stephen Curry went to the locker room late in the first quarter of Game 6 after appearing to tweak his ankle. Curry limped a little bit earlier in the quarter after seemingly tweaking it, but he moved fine on the court afterward. Regardless, the Clippers have been very physical with Curry all series, often double-teaming him. Still, Curry tallied eight first-quarter points on 3-5 shooting in 11 minutes.
