LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- A couple of teams looking to get back on
track collide tonight when the Los Angeles Kings host the
Atlanta Thrashers in the first meeting between the clubs.
Glen Murray score twice and Vladimir Tsyplakov also tallied as Los Angeles skated to a 1-1 tie against Tampa Bay on Saturday. Murray has four goals and an assist over the last three games and Bryan Smolinski has four assists during that stretch. Atlanta fell to 2-4 over its last six outings with Monday's 4-3 overtime loss to Nashville. Bidding for the first three-game winning streak in its brief history, the Thrashers fell to 0-2-2 in overtime. Mike Stapleton scored his third goal in two games and Dean Sylvester tallied for the second straight contest. Sylvester and fellow rookie Patrick Stefan each are riding three-game points streak for the Thrashers. Andrew Brunette leads the team with 12 goals and 25 points.
