BUFFALO, New York (Ticker) -- The slumping Buffalo Sabres try to
snap a nine-game winless streak against the Northeast Division
rival Ottawa Senators tonight.
The Sabres will be without the injured Hasek this time around as they try to halt a four-game winless stretch overall. They are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday. Buffalo's power play has been a problem, going 0-for-7 against the Penguins and just 1-for-25 in the last six games. The Sabres, who are led by Michal Grosek with 20 points and Stu Barnes with 19, open a four-game homestand tonight. The struggling Senators are coming off a 3-1 home to Dallas on Saturday. They are 3-7-1 since an 11-4-1 start and have lost two straight on the road. Radek Bonk's 27 points lead Ottawa, which also has struggled on the power play. The Senators have scored one goal in their last 18 chances, spanning five games. The teams met on October 23 with Ottawa posting a 4-0 victory. Ron Tugnutt recorded his 13th career shutout and Marian Hossa had two goals and an assist.
