DETROIT (Ticker) -- The first-place Detroit Red Wings look to
avenge Saturday's loss to the Nashville Predators when they meet
again tonight.
Robert Valicevic paced the Predators in the victory with a goal and two assists. The Red Wings, who are 4-4 in their last eight games, have the second-best home power play in the NHL, converting on 22.4 percent of their chances (15-of-67). Nashville is coming off Monday's 4-3 overtime victory in Atlanta. Randy Robitaille's goal with 2:26 remaining gave the Predators their first overtime victory in four games (1-2-1), and only the second in franchise history. Nashville's Cliff Ronning, who played in his 800th NHL game, scored twice. He leads the club with 11 goals and 24 points. Detroit holds a 5-2-0 lead over Nashville since the teams' first met last season. The Predators have not won in Detroit in three tries.
