ANAHEIM, California -- The Vancouver Canucks look to break out of their funk and move back into first place in the Northwest Division when they visit the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim on Wednesday night.
Vancouver dropped its second straight and fell to 1-5-2 in its last eight games with a 5-2 loss at Colorado on Monday. Markus Naslund scored for the second straight game and extended his points streak to four games. Naslund has nine goals and 25 points for the Canucks, who are 0-2 on a four-game road trip and 0-4-2 in their last six games away from home. Andrew Cassels has three goals and three assists during a six-game points streak for the Canucks, who trail the Avalanche by one point for first place. Colorado visits San Jose tonight. Anaheim is unbeaten in its last five home games against the Canucks, with two wins and three ties. The teams went 1-1-2 against each other last season. Naslund had four goals and seven points and Anaheim's Steve Rucchin tallied eight points in those four meetings. Jim McKenzie and Ted Donato scored and Guy Hebert stopped 30 shots as the Ducks halted the Phoenix Coyotes' eight-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory on Saturday.
